I bought this mixer a year ago and I've never been satisfied. R rFor one, it would not absolutely crush ice without leaving behind in chunks. She also had the bad habit of having the bottom of the pot to fall when he lift the blender smoothie sending everywhere. It seemed no matter how closely the substance was safe, he was sure enough. I ended up having to always keep the bottom for fear of having Pop It Off. R Rafter few months, the mixer developed a Foul smell of burned while running (and it was only run about once a week). There are just a few days, the engine has stopped working completely. I won 't trust another Hamilton Beach Blender again.

I 'm not sure about some of the negative Reviewers on this product ... I dunno - am I alone in not putting things into it while it ' s running [maybe I value my digits too much seems !]... to me that the negativers are not too quick on the uptake. r rI received this blender as a gift about 15 months ago - it has performed flawlessly since day one. I have had several "better " Blenders over the years that never seemed to live up to the promise, but this one .... I have used it at least once a day to make my breakfast smoothie, which involves granola, frozen fruit, yogurt, etc., and it performs without a hitch. Crushed ice is absolutely no problem - which has in fact been a problem with almost every other blender that I have owned. This was actually given to me as a birthday gift by my Departing ex-wife, and I have to say, within the 12 years of marriage, it was by far the best gift ever given! :-)

My wife and I have decided we are never again going to pay premium prices for small appliances. No matter how much you pay for them, they all break down as soon as The warranty is over. Manufacturers have proven to us that these types of devices are completely disposable, regardless of price. r rThat said, I simply looked for the best blender I could find for the lowest price, and hit the jackpot with this one. The wave action really works well for crushing ice and frozen fruit. Smoothies, MARGARITAS, pina coladas, etc ... no problem! The very finely crushes ice, just like the $ 2000 Blenders used in bars. We have loaded it up by completely filling the jar, and have yet to be disappointed with the performance. R rBottom line is, this is what a blender is for. All the other bells and whistles that come on more expensive units are meaningless if the unit doesn 't blend well. This unit is replacing a fancy Kitchen Aid blender that cost 3 times as much and never did the job at all. Check out my other reviews, to see what I had to say about that one. r rHere 'sa tip for the reviewer that has a problem with the wave action: When adding ingredients while the blender is running, put it on the lowest speed before removing the cap. Also, don 't remove the entire lid, just remove the fill cap in the center. Doing this will keep the contents from spilling out while adding ingredients. R ri 've only had this HB blender for a couple of months, so I ' ll update this review later if I have any performance issues down the road. Right now, I 'd have to say it would be hard to beat the value here: simple, inexpensive, and it works. What more do you need?

I received this, realized it was only 48 ounces even though it 's advertised as 56 ounces, it returned, it apparantly got lost in the mail, so I lost my $ 47 without anything to show because PresentsForYou says it ' s not in their warehouse. Not a good experience.

I only have to do it with a piece of garbage and I'm so annoyed by it 's design that I ' m going out of my way to check negetively. The "wave-action " design is what makes it so bad. Yes, it helps to mix things better .... but also forces the liquid to shoot up toward the lid. If you want to take the lid off to add things that are running (as I know all that use a blender) it shoots out the liquid mixture and the entire counter. I 've never had any other blender which I can not remove the top to add stuff while it is running. You 've got to be able to add stuff (like powder) AFTER it is running or else they will stick to the sides of the inside of blender. Awful design. I 't wait until it breaks.

I found a blender for a while. The price ranges were all over the place. Finally I decided to get this guy soon, and that 's lightweight, offers a "wave " action and it was cheap. I absolutely love it! I soon had a Kenmore (much heavier, much more expensive) and not even that can crush frozen fruit and this model. Very light, easy to use. There are three "high " buttons for smoothies, crushed ice and milk shakes. Mixes quickly and well. The cleanup was quick and easy. I like the fact base can be removed so you can wash all parties. The motion of the waves is as advertised and really a large mixing batter.

yes, it destroys the ice very well, but the screw-in can be VERY messy bottom if you accidentally get it off when you take a blender from the base. It all just came pouring out the bottom. It 's not bad, but I'll perferred something with a one-piece down.
